I have communicated with our bat expert in Mobile for many years, and he abides by these bat removal principles:
- Always perform a proper live exclusion.
- Never use poisons or fumigants or kill bats.
- Never use traps or attempt to relocate bats.
- Never do a removal during the maternity season.
- Seal all entry points shut with guarantee.
- Offer attic cleanup and decontamination.
- Properly Alabama licensed and insured.
Before you hire anyone, including our tech at 251-241-0770, talk to them, and make sure that they understand what they are doing, and that they have experience. Be sure that they do abide by the principles I outlined above. This is not just for the sake of the bats - I'm no tree hugger - it's for the sake of doing the job correctly, for you and your property. The fact that it's good for the bats as well is a lucky coincidence. And really, bats are good animals, which I'm sure you realize. I hope you have a good experience with your Mobile bat control project. You can email me personally if you have any problems with our tech, and I will talk to him, but I doubt that will be necessary. Good luck!
Mobile wildlife control company bat reader email:
Hi David--Last night I got 5 bats in my living room and found 3 more flying around in the basement. They came up from the basement and got in under my basement door then onto the living room. I was awaken at 12:30 am by one and then more came in. I'm sure now I have a colony in attic. I had assumed at first they were in my chimney. Every few years I would get one in August but did not have any for about 10 years. I read your excellent website and understand that exclusion cannot be performed during the maternity season. My question is how can I keep them out of the living room if they should come back again. Will they come back again? I live alone and am absolutely terrified of them although I know I shouldn't be. I spent last night at my neighbors and am spending tonight out also. Even if I blocked off the door somehow I could still hear them scratching at the door trying to get it. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Thanks for your helpful information on your site. How does one begin to determine where the bats have entered our home? We found a dead one one morning and think our cat caught it and killed it. We had another flying around last night that escaped and "disappeared" into the closet. Not sure how to proceed and hate to have to pay someone but if that would be best we will do it.
