I have communicated with our bat expert in Las Vegas for many years, and he abides by these bat removal principles:
- Always perform a proper live exclusion.
- Never use poisons or fumigants or kill bats.
- Never use traps or attempt to relocate bats.
- Never do a removal during the maternity season.
- Seal all entry points shut with guarantee.
- Offer attic cleanup and decontamination.
- Properly Nevada licensed and insured.
Before you hire anyone, including our tech at ###-###-####, talk to them, and make sure that they understand what they are doing, and that they have experience. Be sure that they do abide by the principles I outlined above. This is not just for the sake of the bats - I'm no tree hugger - it's for the sake of doing the job correctly, for you and your property. The fact that it's good for the bats as well is a lucky coincidence. And really, bats are good animals, which I'm sure you realize. I hope you have a good experience with your Las Vegas bat control project. You can email me personally if you have any problems with our tech, and I will talk to him, but I doubt that will be necessary. Good luck!

Thank You so much for the info on Bats in the Attic. After a couple days searching I came to your info. We DO have Bats in our chimney. My wife and I both have set outside the past 2 nights. Just like clock work out came the Bats. They are coming out of the top. Both nights we could spot 3 at the same time. After a while they would go back to the chimney and stop right over the top and it would look like they were sucked right in. When my wife would go in the house and sit by the fireplace she could hear the bats when they came in and went out. Now how do we know if there are babies or not. We live in Fostoria, Ohio. Will they leave in the fall because of the cold, then I could put the mesh screen over the top? This has been fun researching but we would like to see the Bats move on. Your thought on our next move. P S Our chimney is 8 ft. by 2 & 1/2 ft. and about 20 ft. high with a 12in by 12in flu. Also, my son just moved into a house he is renting. Up in the attic is a large amount of bat droppings. He asked landlord to take care of it. She just said all old homes have bats. Only offered to vacuum it up. Should he insist on an exterminator?
