Annapolis Bat Removal

Not all wildlife removal companies are the same. Some have experience with bat removal projects, and are familiar with the proper methods for bat exclusion. But others use incorrect techniques, such as bat traps, summer exclusions, or worse, fumigants. Do your research before you hire someone! I personally recommend our field technician for bat control in Annapolis.

I have communicated with our bat expert in Annapolis for many years, and he abides by these bat removal principles:

  • Always perform a proper live exclusion.
  • Never use poisons or fumigants or kill bats.
  • Never use traps or attempt to relocate bats.
  • Never do a removal during the maternity season.
  • Seal all entry points shut with guarantee.
  • Offer attic cleanup and decontamination.
  • Properly Maryland licensed and insured.
As I discuss repeatedly on this website, bat removal projects are not easy, and not for amateurs. I have seen many horrible attempts at bat colony removal throughout the years, done both by do-it-yourself homeowners and by incompetent companies. Never hire a Annapolis pest control company that uses poisons for rodent or insect control. They often attempt the same approach for bats. Not only is this incredibly destructive and illegal in Maryland, but it results in disaster for the homeowner, and does not actually solve the problem. It's very important that the removal of bats from the attic of your home is done in the correct manner, and there is only one correct way, with a live bat exclusion. To read more about this process, read my bats in the attic home page.

Before you hire anyone, including our tech at 410-774-5789, talk to them, and make sure that they understand what they are doing, and that they have experience. Be sure that they do abide by the principles I outlined above. This is not just for the sake of the bats - I'm no tree hugger - it's for the sake of doing the job correctly, for you and your property. The fact that it's good for the bats as well is a lucky coincidence. And really, bats are good animals, which I'm sure you realize. I hope you have a good experience with your Annapolis bat control project. You can email me personally if you have any problems with our tech, and I will talk to him, but I doubt that will be necessary. Good luck!

Do you service Annapolis MD? My church in downtown Annapolis, near the water, is infested with bats. The odor is terrible, especially whenever the a/c is not on. Bat droppings are constantly found on the stairs which lead to the front entrance of the sanctuary. The bats are living within the double-bricked walls, and I've been told that they have entered in small areas where the mortar has deteriorated. Because the building is on the Historic Register, there is an issue of what can and can not be done to the structure. I have searched your website and can not find any numbers for your service in my area. Could you please send me a phone number asap as I have a bat in my living room and I needed to know what to do before dusk! Now I know what I have been hearing in our attic!!!

Hi, my name is Amanda. My grandpa has a bat house on the back of his garage and they found a bat that tested positive for rabies. I was just wondering the proper way to take care if it. Thanks! We called the dec and they said since it was a bat house we have to take are of it but we don't know how. We have many dogs and little kids that run around so we are very concerned. In the past four years we have had two bats in our house. It's a new home. I'm convinced they entered through the ridge vent by gnawing at the fabric screening. In your experience do they do that? Id asked the roofing contractor to first staple wire screening. Don't think they did it. Perhaps bats even chew through that, I don't know. What do you recommend? Thanks again.
